Day Camps at Eastside Family Y

In our Full Day Summer Camp program, your child will grow their social skills, build confidence, and make life-long memories in small, grade-level groups. Each week, your camper will play games, swim, go on field trips, and choose from activities such as sports, archery, cooking, crafts, outdoor skills and more! Each week provides unique experiences and themes – with fun surprises around every corner. We are excited to make Summer 2023 the best one yet!

Our Teen Camp offers a space where youth from all backgrounds are welcomed, all while given the opportunity to discover new skills, establish positive relationships, and reach their full potential. Through different weekly themes, our teen campers (separated into 2 age groups for rising 6th grade and rising 7th-8th grades), will participate in activities and discussions that explore service learning and leadership development – all while having fun in the process! Your teen is sure to find their spark and make their mark this summer at the YMCA.

Leader in Training Program

Our Leader in Training & Counselor in Training programs are designed to help build up and equip our future YMCA leaders! Campers will gain hands on skills, certifications, and professional development trainings. These programs are only available to rising 7th through 9th graders through an application process. *Application will remain open as long as space is available.
Focus: Providing support to camp operations and lead staff.
Gains: Knowledge of camp operations, first step of track for employment, professional development trainings, staff mentor, certification of completion for the LIT program.

To apply for the Leader in Training (LIT) Program:
  • Complete the online LIT application here, then submit 1-2 letters of recommendation using the link provided in the "next steps" email that will be sent once your application is submitted.
  • After application and references are received, we will reach out to schedule a phone interview.

Counselor in Training Program

This year we are excited to offer our CIT program as a 4-week training session for rising 10th graders. Upon completion of the Counselor in Training program, CITs will be approved to volunteer at Summer Day Camp the remainder of the summer supporting camp operations. *Application will remain open as long as space is available.
Focus: Gaining leadership skills and preparing for future employment.
Gains: professional recommendations, life skills, staff mentor, certification of competition for the CIT program, YMCA leader certification.

To apply for the Counselor in Training Program:
  • Complete online CIT application here, then submit 2-3 letters of recommendation using the link provided in the "next steps" email that will be sent once your application is submitted.
  • One letter of recommendation must be from a previous YMCA staff person.
  • After application and references are received, we will reach out to schedule an in person interview .
Rising 10th grade (Age 15)
  • June 5-30 (4 week session)

Swim Camp

Swim Camp is held in weekly sessions throughout the summer for swimmers of all levels and is designed to provide a safe, fun environment while improving swimming strokes and learning how to be safer in and around water. Campers will be divided into groups based on swim assessment skill level (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced). Each group will focus on swimming skills based on current skills and abilities (beginner through advanced swimming strokes). Each day, campers will rotate through swim instruction, group games, free swim, and water safety activities. In addition to a bathing suit and towel, campers should also bring swim goggles, a labeled water bottle and sunscreen. A small snack will be provided for each camper.

Throughout the day the kids will participate in various different activities centered around sports. Activities include Campus Run, Sport specific Drills, Team Development, Practice games or Scrimmages. Throughout the day kids get multiple water breaks and chances to cool off and try to stay fresh as they can. Each week specializes in a different sport but some of the drills/activities for footwork, speed, and agility are the same across many different sports so they will learn the value in having that knowledge.

Full Day, Teen, and Extended Day Camps
  • A $50 registration fee is required at time of registration (non-refundable).
  • A $10 deposit is required to reserve your spot for each session week.  
  • We require payments to be made using an automated payment schedule. This payment authorization is to remain in effect until the Y receives the required notification to cancel the program. Your scheduled payment amount will increase/decrease based on the weekly fee plans, and will be adjusted to reflect holidays that fall within your camp week. If your scheduled payment is returned or if you stop payment or your account closes, you will be responsible to pay the program fees and the $25 service fee. If any changes occur with your bank account, debit or credit card, please notify the Y immediately.
  • A cancellation notice is required in writing at least 15 business days prior to the camp’s start date.
  • Written cancellation notices received at least 15 business days prior to the camp start date will result in a refund or system credit of amount paid (minus $10 deposit).
  • No refunds or system credits will be issued for cancellation requests not submitted at least 15 business days prior to the camp start date.

Specialty and Enrichment Camps
  • Payment in full is required for all specialty and enrichment camps.
